Rhenium powder is a powdered form of rhenium metal, usually dark grey, and is sometimes referred to as sponge rhenium. The molecular formula of rhenium powder is Re, and the bulk density is related to the particle size, about 6~9g/cm³. The chemical purity and particle state of rhenium powder are the main reference indicators to measure its quality. The average particle size ranges from 1.5µm to 15µm, which can meet the needs of powder metallurgy materials and the strict requirements of laboratory high-purity reagents.

Rhenium powder is generally used as an element additive for superalloys, material coatings, and further processing to produce dense rhenium metal products.
Rhenium dioxide, dark brown solid substance. Monoclinic structure. The density is 11.4~11.6g/cm3. Boiling point 1363 ℃. But at 700 °C, it begins to decompose, producing metal rhenium and rhenium heptaoxide. It has inhalation properties, poor volatility, and can form perrhenate by eutectic fusion with alkali in air.

Slightly soluble in water, insoluble in dilute acid, soluble in concentrated halogen acid. It is easy to react with nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide to generate rhenic acid.
Preparation method: Preparation method Reduction of rhenium anhydride with hydrogen at 300°C, or in an inert medium (argon, nitrogen) at 400°C
Application field: It is used to prepare metal rhenium raw material and organic compound synthesis catalyst for hydrogen reduction.
