Cobalt is one of the few metals that can maintain magnetism once magnetized. The coercive force of magnetic steel containing 60% cobalt is 2.5 times higher than that of general magnetic steel. In a vibration environment, general magnetic steel loses almost 1/3 of its magnetism. The cobalt steel only loses 2%-3.5% of its magnetic properties. Due to its superior magnetic properties, cobalt is widely used in the manufacture of high-performance magnetic materials. CoNiCrMo alloy has the advantages of good fatigue resistance and high tensile strength, so it is suitable for applications that require a long life without fracture or stress fatigue, such as artificial joints at the hip joint.
